Introduction:

Business Decision Making Purpose and aim of this assessment will give the author opportunity to examine a variety of data sources. For any of the given scenarios, he will collect data from different sources by using variety of methods, and will use spreadsheets and other software for data analysis and the preparation of information in an effective manner. Conclusions on the basis of data analysis are required to clarify the importance and use of different data analysis techniques.

1.1 A plan for the collection of primary and secondary data (P1)

In order to find out level of satisfaction of the customers of Sainsbury’s we have to collect both secondary and primary data.

Secondary data

Secondary data is all the information collected for purposes other than the completion of a research project and it’s used to gain initial insight into the research problem. It is classified in terms of its source – either internal or external.

Primary data

Primary data is a type of information that is obtained directly from first-hand sources by means of surveys, observation or experimentation. It is data that has not been previously published and is derived from a new or original research study and collected at the source such as in marketing.

Steps in collecting primary data

In this case, we will do a survey to investigate level of satisfaction of the customers of Sainsbury’s. The survey methodology is presented below.

1.2 Present the survey methodology and sampling frame used (P2)

The list of the customers of Sainsbury’s is called the sampling frame. After having the sampling frame we continue to pick out sample for the investigation of the level of satisfaction of the customers of Sainsbury’s.
