ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to explore the preference of STI College- Calamba students reading habits between digital preferences and printed material. The effect of this transformation from printed material to digital preferences on the reading habits is also a subject worthy of deeper analysis. Thus, the purpose of this reference reading habits of STI College- Calamba students. (The aspects they deem advantages, related purpose, methods of access, the most frequently used digital reference environment and file formats.)
CHAPTER I.
INTRODUCTION
During the last II years digital reference relates of publishers, its catalogues prepared by university libraries, easy internet access to resources have altogether contributed to the spread of its use. These are software objects as well as physical devices understood as a software object of a digital reference is simply an electronic text that serves the same purpose as conventional printed book. This may also be enhanced with other electronic features such as embedded hyperlinks, bookmarks, annotation, text searching and the linking of complex multimedia objects and may also be of a great assistance for those with disabilities. Digital references such as e-books represent a logical step on the timeline of publishing and the evolution or digital collection. Digital reference refers to a network of expertise, intermediation and resources put at the disposal of a person seeking answers in an online environment.
