Background of the Tobacco Industry

The countries of Japan and New Zealand have their own tobacco industries. The tobacco industries in both the countries are running properly and appropriately. In the country of Japan, the tobacco industry is a very old industry. The country of Japan has got the operations in relation to tobacco right from the year 1500(Alexander, 2008).Right from the very beginning, some kinds of restrictions was imposed on the tobacco industry by the government of Japan. The restrictions were in relation to protection of rice lands and wooden buildings which could catch fire because of the use of tobacco. In the year 1624, some kind of tax was also imposed on the tobacco industry.
