Intro

Huffman trucking is in need of a database that will allow them to track information that is important to their business. The company needs to track the drivers’ information various categories and would like reliable database system that can be updated and edited. In the process of developing the program there are many things that must be considered. From analyzing the situation to understanding the scope of the database system there are many things that must be addressed and handled as we develop the database for the Huffman Company

Analyze the Environment

When analyzing The Huffman trucking group we identify the main needs of the group requesting the database. Huffman is a needing reliable database to keep up with the records of its drivers. Each driver has information that is needed to be tracked and updated as needed. In this environment we must be able to track personal driver information, driver’s log information, and driver violation information. We must able to accurately input and track this information for Huffman trucking. This will allow Huffman to keep up with all of its drivers, track driving information, and allow them to know who is performing up to driving safety standards.

Identify the Problems and Constraints

There are a few problems and constraints that we encounter with this database system. With the three entities being provided the attributes under each entity could change importance so there must be a way to add or change the attributes that are followed in the database. Each entity of information must be properly validated in the table to ensure that data is correct and the user is able to get the correct data. The data that is being collected in the Drivers Log entity is going to have to constantly be updated and tracked so that it stays accurate as well.
