SDLC Value Paper
Information technology affects productivity and profits in the business industry, so it is very important for organizations to have systems that manage the information effectively and efficiently. One person alone cannot build an information system; it takes the skills and hard work of many individuals to get the process completed.
Systems Development Life Cycle
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a process that involves five steps that a project team uses to create and implement a new information system. Following these steps can greatly reduce the chances of having the project fail. This process also assures that functions and user requirements along with organizational goals and objectives are met. The phases track the development of an information system from beginning to end (Satzinger, Jackson, & Burd, 2009,).
Phases of SDLC
There are five different phases that are involved in the SDLC process which includes the project planning, analysis, design, implementation, and finally the support. Each phase has its own purpose and objectives to completing the SDLC.
The first phase is the planning phase, during this phase it is important to determine what it is that needs done, what the problem is. The requirements are determined along with the resources (such as personnel and cost) that will be needed to complete the building of the new system. After examining the resources and requirements an idea about what it needed and how this will benefit the organization is discussed, then analyzed to asses if there is any other solution to the problem and once that is done if there are no other solutions then the plan of...
