STI Surveillance Report Arkansas, 2013

The Arkansas Department of Health, STI/HIV/Hepatitis C/TB Section, produces this issue of the Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Surveillance Report. Data presented for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Early Syphilis infection among residents of Arkansas who diagnosed as of December 31, 2013 based on data reported to the STI Surveillance Program.

Chlamydia Cases by Gender, Race/Ethnicity & Age Group Arkansas

The data shown in the report is sub divided in different categories that are gender, Race, and age group. As for this case, the total number of men that were infected was = 4,092 and female were = 11,260, total becomes = 15,352.So the ratio of men was = 26.7% and ratio of women was = 73.3 %. This shows that there is more infection ratio in women as of men. Now considering the data with respect to race/ethnicity, the total infected number of white –non-Hispanic were = 5, 474, Black – non-Hispanic = 6,967, Am Ind Non Hispanic = 28, Asian – non-Hispanic = 166, Hispanic = 588, other = 89, Unknown = 2,040. From these figures, it is visible that the infection rate is demanding over the Black – non-Hispanic and least Am Ind – non-Hispanic. Now taking data for age, People less than 13 year that were infected was = 19, between 13 – 14 years = 137, between 15 -24 years = 11,207, between 25 – 34 years = 3,294, between 35 – 44 = 549, between 45 – 54 = 108, between 55-64 years = 32, above 65 years = 5,unknown =1, total becomes = 15,992

Gonorrhea Cases by Gender, Race/Ethnicity & Age Group Arkansas

As for this case, the total number of men that were infected was 1,830 and female were 2,168, total becomes 3,998.So the ratio of men was 43.7% and ratio of women was 56.3 %. This shows that there is more infection ratio in women as of men. Now considering the data with respect to race/ethnicity, the total infected number of white –non-Hispanic were = 911, Black – non-Hispanic 2,572, Am Ind Non Hispanic = 4 , Asian – non-Hispanic...
