Requirements

INEN 4369 Engineering Management - Course Project Spring 2015

Introduction

This project is optional for undergraduate students. It is not required. If submitted, it will be counted.

This project is to be completed as an individual. No teams allowed.

This project will count as 30% of your grade. Look for the grading scheme that includes the project on the syllabus.

Instructions

Step 1: Gather 3 scholarly articles about project management. The topic must be something covered in our textbook (See article requirements below)

Step 2: Identify 1-3 project management topics in each article that relate to the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Enter the topic pairings into the template provided.

Step 3: For Article 1, discuss the project management concepts described in the article and how they relates to the 7 Habits (minimum of 800 words for each article). Write this section as if you were explaining the concept to a student who is new to our class.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3 for Articles 2 and 3. 

Article Requirements:

1) Minimum 6 pages single spaced. Many journal articles are 12-14 pages single spaced

2) Respectable journal – research or case study - not a sales pitch, see “Is it a Journal?” discussion below for guidance. Case studies are highly encouraged. A case study tells a story of how a company went through some aspect of Quality.

3) Electronic or hard copy is fine. Hard copy must be submitted to me by mail or dropped off at my office.

Submission Requirements:

1. Use the Microsoft Word template provided.

2. Use Arial font size 12, one inch margins on all sides, Line spacing = single

3. Submit the comparison in Microsoft Word or PDF format.

4. Cover page should include course name, your name, date, title and author of each article. Cover page should be in the same file as the comparison.
