My role model CEO is Tadashi Yanai, the Chairman, President and CEO of UNIQLO. UNIQLO Co., Ltd. is a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer. The company is the subsidiary of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. In addition to Japan, the company operates in Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Back to the story, why do I chose him as my role model CEO? Tadashi Yanai has unique thinking about how to manage employees, and he is a person with activity and patience about corporate culture.

“He believe the best way to make the goals that he want, “Global One and Zenin Keiei (Uniqlo terms, n.d.)” management principles across the entire corporate group would be the must (Yanai, 2014.11.21).” The main idea of his management principle means everybody as a business leader, and everybody should feel accountability and ownership as a part of UNIQLO. He believe hire the right person, the most important thing would be the person must have the same goals, values, and belief as the company. That means the person have to fit- in the company’s corporatizing culture because no matter how bright or how smart the person is, if he/she cannot fin-in the organization’s culture then he/she could become useless or poison for the organization. In his opinion global is local, local is global. He think global and local are equal important, a global corporate need to have skillful people for both part. The organization need some people who is willing to travel globally or certain countries for its global market, also it is looking for people who is good with develop local market or management (Interview the CEO of UNIQLO, 2014.11.13).”
