Summary “Two Years Better Than Four”

As you ever think in the possibility to going to a Community College can be a better beginning than going straight to four years college? The author Liz Addison in this essay “Two Years Better than Four” expresses her opinion about Community College and why they are important. She begins her writing arguing that today community college does not receive enough recognition and importance. Due to this reason she decides to write this essay in order to show people that community college is a good option. In addition, Liz Addison refuse Mr. Pearlstein opinion who concludes that college experiences have come to the end; telling “My guess, reading between the lines, is that Mr. Pearlstein has never set a foot in an American College” (Two Years Are Better Than Four, 2007). She explains that Community Colleges have an important purpose to let students begin to those who has a background it does matter. Also, Addison mentioned a good point “The community college is America’s hidden public service gem” (Two Years Are Better Than Four, 2007).

Addison in her conclusion, think that the community college should be consider as one of American uniquely institution where every student has the opportunity to begin his superior education, and also it should bring a better future for those who do not have resource to pay a four years college.
