Process Improvement Plan
Process improvement involves making changes in a process to make that process more efficient by working to eliminate wasteful activities and streamline productivity. The first step of the process improvement plan for my morning routine is to decide what needs to be improved and establishing a desired outcome (Sconiers, 2010). This assignment will identify statistical controls including control limits, seasonal factors, and confidence intervals based on the data collected from weeks two through five of the steps of my morning routine process in attempt to make the process more efficient.
Statistical Process Control and Control Limits
The below data shows the timing of each step in my morning routine and the total time the daily process takes from weeks two through five. A statistical process control test tests random samples from the process to determine the productivity perfectly efficient (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). The test shows graphically the upper control limits (UCL) and the lower control limits (LCL) of the process. Sample data must remain in between these limits to be efficient and to not be considered an overuse of time.
