Top managers

Definition : Top managers responsible for the overall performance and effectiveness of the firm.

Explain : They are set general policies, formulae strategies, approve all significant decisions, and represent the company in dealings with other firms and with government bodies. It makes decisions that affect everyone in the organization, and is held entirely responsible for the success or failure of the enterprise. Top managers is a person who works by using the mind.

Example : President, vice president, treasure, chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO)

Middle managers

Definition : Middle managers responsible for implementing the strategies and working toward the goals set by top managers.

Explain : An employee of an organization or business who manages at least one subordinate level of managers, and reports to a higher level of managers within the organization. Top management decides to introduce a new product in 12 months or to cut costs by 5 percent in the next quarter, middle management must decide how to meet these goals. Middle managers is a person who arrange the work task to employees. They are a person who work by using the mouth.

Example : Plant manager, operations manager, division manager, regional sales manager

First-line managers

Definition : First-line managers responsible for supervising and working with employees

Explain : Ensure employees understand and are properly trained in company policies and procedures. Although they spend most of their time working with and supervising the employees who report to them, first-line managers’ activities are not limited to that arena. At a building site, for example, the project manager not only ensures that workers are carrying out construction as specified by the architect, but also interacts extensively with materials suppliers, community officials, and middle- and upper-level managers at the home office.
