Employee Portfolio: Management Plan

In order to have a successful, stable company, a good leader should be able to recognize through proper communication what makes his or her employees effective. It is critical for management to distinguish the strengths and abilities of their team members as they work together to help develop each individual to greatness. Management should also complete employee evaluations that will help improve the employee’s performance level that will essentially lead to a cohesive organization.

Employee Characteristics and how it affects the Performance of the Organization

There are several factors that must be reviewed when evaluating an employee’s performance level. Firstly is attitude, as there are three components in helping management understand an individual’s behavior. These are classified as cognitive, affective and behavioral components. All three determines the behavioral outcome on how one responds towards someone or something. Secondly is attitude which could be positive or negative depending upon the work environment, job satisfaction, how engaged the employee is and how committed the individual is to his or her employer. If an employee is satisfied with their job then he or she will most likely reflect a positive attitude. A negative attitude is a reflection of dissatisfaction of their employment this shows in their loyalty, commitment, and how effective they are.

Other issues must be evaluated as well that could possibly effect an employee performance level. Assessing a worker’s personality determines how a person interacts with their peers in a working environment, this can describe if a person is reliable, responsible, show self-confidence and dependability. These are just a few that helps mold the personality in a person to see if he or she is a cooperative and trusting employee. It is...
