Siemens’ infrastructure maturity level is P4 because the complete IT System, called Seamless System, was updated, renewed and reengineered. This includes new equipment, an integrated IT system, a new client/server platform and it is integrated in the existing Siemens Private Communications Systems global strategy. This helped to decrease costs due to less dependency of their existing system provider (IBM and Tel Plus). According to Siemens’, this saves millions annually.

Furthermore with the help of new equipment, especially new laptops for the sales department, Siemens could reengineer their existing process and reduce the sales cycle while increasing customer service. But the most important part of Seamless was the replacement of 80 applications. The new integrated applications would help Siemens’ support order entry, inventory, dispatch, repair, and billing.
