There is a best friend that I would like to apply the interpersonal communication skills to explain our daily communication behavior in those years. My best friend is Katy. We met in secondary one and we are in the same class for three years in junior form. Also, we are always staying in the same group in those of the group projects and joining the same activities. Although we are not in the same class during senior form, we are both studying Business and Financial Study together in a classroom. Besides, we were always having lunch together during school day.

I remember that when I met Katy in my second school day in secondary one, she was sitting next to me and I have to tell her what she had to know and what she had to do because she got sick in the first school day. But, I don’t know how I can start to communication with her. So, I start with introduce my name to her. Then, I just talk all things that she had to know and do. Now, I think that I should add a conversational fuel when I want to start talking with her, such as, asking if she is feeling well. Conversational fuel is meaning any information or topic that can be used to help start a conversation, for instance, asking ritual questions or introducing yourself. If I have add the conversation fuel, then we will not be too nervous and will talk more about ourselves to each other, it may have a good communication.

Beside that, when I was doing a project with her in the first time which is preparing some Christmas produces in a simulated trade fair for selling to our form students, I find that she is hard working and helpful. Also, I infer that she must be a great talker because she was selling the products very well and let us getting the selling prize. After that, I find that she is really great in speaking because of her good result in the speaking exam which is a group discussion. In this case, it is the Halo Effect.
