CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

The pace of change brought about by new technologies has a significant effect on the traditional process of listing cases and the way cases are managed. List of cases becomes a truly lasting activity in which the pace of technological change forces constant evaluation of the listing process itself. In this case, the keeping of records or lists of cases are done manually. Hard copies of those cases are then placed in one folder, in filers, and cabinets. The use of Information Technology in the Legal Office of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology will enhanced the role of the personnel in-charge of the listing process, and will help them do their task more accurate as well as minimizing their time in finding such information of cases in the filers or cabinets.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Henceforth, this research, a computerized list of cases for the Legal Office of the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology is conducted.

General Objectives

To provide a reliable computerized case list system that makes work in the Legal Office more easier and faster and to ensure the security of case files in the Legal Office more firmly.

Specific Objectives

1. To lessen paperworks in the Legal Office.

2. To organize case files in the Legal Office properly.

3. To view list of cases in the Legal Office whenever needed.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study proposed to present aninnovative system design for the Case List of Legal Office of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology.

More precisely, this study responses the following questions:

1. What are the problems encounters in the present system?

2. What system design will be established to reduce the problem encountered in the present system?

3. Is the developed system well-designed based on:

a. Providing Up-to-date List of Cases?

b. Providing List of Client Cases?

c. Providing List of Preceding...
