Strategy to Tackling Drug Abuse

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Drug Abuse is a big problem which is growing rapidly. In small towns and cities also, this problem has impacted many young children. It is an issue which needs a focus and attention. Younger generation should be able to identify with the bad impacts of drugs. This will allow them to fight back from being susceptible towards influences.

Chandrabala Academy is planning to organize an event which will allow them to bring the drug abuse problem in the fore-front. It is planning to arrange an event of river crossing. Alternatively, it can have a festival in the school grounds. While river crossing is a unique event which is not common, it is risky and dangerous. On the other hand, organizing a festival is easier and has no risk involved, but unfortunately very common and similar to other events

Decision to choose among the options will depend on the risks involved as well as the benefits provided to the cause.

From the available options, the river crossing event does not seem feasible due to the risks involved and since it is the most important criteria for selecting the options, it should not done.

Organizing a festival has very little risk and scores highly on the other criteria. Hence it should be selected.

Current Situation

Small towns in India are under a big influence from drug abuse. The disease is spreading very fast, and many children in a young age are getting affected from this. With the outcome of our meeting with Mr. Srivastava, D.S.P, there was a need for the school to do something to ensure that our children do not get influenced by this and are able to appreciate the right from the wrong
