On January 21, 2013 President Obama gave his 2nd Inaugural address as the 57th president of the United States, to the nation, after having sworn oath to serve the people of the nation. His address called on the nation to move past political separations, in order to confront the nation’s pressing issues, such as: economic inequality, gay rights, climate change as well as reforming of the immigration policy.

The most appealing issues to me were the climate change issue as well as the immigration policy. These matters is where one would find many difficulties in remodeling in my personal opinion, as there are many factors that fall into place when determining the future of alternative energy sources or change in immigration laws.

When considering an alteration in energy laws the president and congress must keep in mind that oil right now is the easiest way of producing energy and most cost efficient. Laws that might reduce the profits of an oil company’s income may not go through as one may hope, in order to reduce global warming. Thriving economies always look for convenient and cheap ways to gain power as well as uplift their economy and in most cases it is through the export and import of oil. With that being said the President must keep in mind is the benefit greater than the cost or vice versa before going through with a law that may affect production of power. Although these are the challenges that arise from making a decision like this, the benefit is also great which in this case would be the improvement in the quality of living for people in the U.S and the around the Globe.

Now illegal immigrants have been a constant issue throughout the years, and from a business point of view you may turn a blind eye because these immigrants are a source of cheap labor (in many cases under minimum wage). While all that is amusing to business owners, from an employee’s point of view this gives life to a serious question: How do I earn a living when there is always...
