Introduction

Commonwealth of Australia is established on 1 January 1901 by six colonies joining together, and became a dominion of the British Empire in 1907 (11). Australia is one of the wealthiest and well-developed countries in the world. This country currently ranked world’s 12th largest economy, 5th highest GDP (nominal) per capita, and 10th highest GDP (PPP) per capita (18)(19). Ranked as the 2nd highest United Nation 2011 Human Development Index in the world, Australia ranks highly in comparisons of national performance; it ranks highly in the quality of life, health, education, work opportunities, and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. Products and services production also surpass many international standards in term of output and quality.

Australia’s Overview

Geography

A country and an island, Australia is located in region of Oceania between the Indian Ocean and South Pacific Ocean. It is ranked as the 6th largest countries but known as the world’s smallest continent. Wikipedia described Australia’s geography as extremely diverse, ranging from the snow-capped mountains of the Australian Alps and Tasmania to large deserts, tropical and temperate forests. Beneath its land, Australia has many different kinds of natural resources from metals to rare earth elements to natural gas and petroleum (2).

Demographic

According to “Population Clock” as reported in Australian Bureau of Statistic website, Australia population is estimated to be 23,472,668 as of 4 May 2014, ranking 52nd most populous country in the world. The most populated city is Sydney at 4.4M, followed by Melbourne at 3.8M, then Brisbane at 1.9M, then Perth 1.5M, and then Canberra (the capital) at 399K. In term of...
