I think those actions do not align with the ethical principles of whistle-blowing as the case stated that the site released the sensitive and dangerous information, such as the leak of the operating manual for the U.S. military’s guided bombs (known as JDAM). Due to those irresponsibly leak; it can harm the American military personnel lives at risk. Moreover, there is another irresponsibility of WikiLeaks as the revelations of some Afghan’s names who had helped U.S. forces, which can endanger their life. It is good for public to get the right amount of information but too much explosion of information may cause a large number of issues and endanger people live. The main intension of whistle blowing is to expose the corruption in the company or government, not to endanger people lives. Furthermore, people can take the advantages for criminal purposes by giving the wrong information for their own benefit.

2) Does WikiLeaks have an obligation to censor postings to protect innocent individuals who may be harmed by making the information public? Should the site take steps to verify the accuracy of the posted documents?

Yes, WikiLeaks have an obligation to censor postings to protect innocent individuals like the postings about Afghanistan war case. It has some potential that some of Afghans, who had helped U.S. forces, can be died that is against the intentions of whistle blowing. The site should take steps to verify the accuracy of the posted documents in order to avoid any wrong information, which can lead into chaos and endanger the innocent people as well.
