Meeting goals in an efficient and effective manner are important to an organization’s success. In order to be successful and to meet these goals, there are different processes and methods that will help the employer attract and keep good candidates. Tools utilized in organizations include performance management systems, job evaluation methods, compensation plans and benefit plans. The effectiveness of the methods chosen can be weighed by the end result which is the company’s performance success.

Boardman Management Group considers every position in their organization critical to the satisfaction of the guest. Two jobs that standout are the general manager and the event planner and coordinator positions. These two job position have on a daily basis communication with the guest which makes them important to the Baderman Island resort. Failure to communicate with a guest correctly can mean an unhappy guest.

The general manager (GM) position is a position that has to report to the owners and also responsible for overseeing and managing all aspect of a resort operation. As a person can imagine, the general manager has many duties and responsibilities. Duties for the general manager consist of managing and directing the operation effectively and efficiently in order to achieve the resort’s mission and objectives. The GM also has to market, sell, and create operational plans to achieve revenue and profit target objectives. Also the recruiting, training, and motivation of the staff is under his or her duty. GM’s have to be very outgoing with exceptional communication and time management skills.

The event planner and coordinator (EPC) is also essential to the Baderman Island resort. The EPC helps the general manager in every special event that is created and set in the resort.
