Business analytics can be used to improve your company through your customer service department. The recent shift in business trends shows that customer service is vital to the client experience. Business analytics can help your company read your customers needs through data mining, insight-driven marketing, and workforce effectiveness.

Data mining is used to combine large amounts of data and then to use it to analyze business performance. By using customer frequent shopper programs and looking at these trends you can find what your customers are buying and what is trending in the market. This data mining can help shape what products to stock and what can be discontinued.

Insight driven marketing can assist your company in knowing where to put your marketing dollars. This data can be funneled and teased out by collecting the total number of leads from your customer service departments; then you can exclude the points that do not lead anywhere; and finally you can tease out the best potential customers and focus your marketing on this group.

The final place analytics can assist your company is with workforce effectiveness. You will be able to look at your sales trends and be able to see workforce trends and outliers and identify opportunities for innovation and growth. This analysis will help to maximize productivity and minimize cost, allowing you to maintain predictable labor expenses.
