* What is the cell theory? Is a scientific theory that describes the properties of cells, which are the basic unit of structure in all organisms and also the basic unit of reproduction?

* Who are the 3 scientist given credit for proposing the cell theory? Theodor Schwann, Matthias Jakob Schleiden, and Rudolf Virchow.

* Define Eukaryotic cells

1. Nucleus -. Is a membrane-enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells.

2. Ribosomes- is a large and complex molecular machine, found within all living cells, that serves as the primary site of biological protein synthesis (translation).

3. Endoplasmic Reticulum- The endoplasmic reticulum is a network of tubules and flattened sacs that serve a variety of functions in the cell.

* Rough E R (RER) - is involved in some protein production, protein folding, quality control and dispatch. It is called 'rough' because it is studded with ribosomes * Smooth E R (SER) - is associated with the production and metabolism of fats and steroid hormones. It is 'smooth' because it is not studded with ribosomes and is associated with smooth slippery fats. * Cell Membrane- The cell membrane is a thin semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm of a cell. * Define Eukaryotic Cell 1. Cytoskeleton- The cytoskeleton is a network of fibers throughout the cell's cytoplasm that helps the cell maintain its shape and gives support to the cell. 2. Cytoplasm- The cytoplasm consists of all of the contents outside of the nucleus and enclosed within the cell membrane of a cell. 3. Golgi apparatus- The Golgi complex or Golgi apparatus consists of 3-20 flattened and stacked saclike structures called cisternae. A complex network of tubules and vesicles is located at the edges of the cisternae. 4. Chloroplasts- are disk-shaped structures ranging from 5 to 10 micrometers in length. Like mitochondria, chloroplasts are surrounded by an inner and an outer membrane. 5. Mitochondria-...
