Refection

Women have also fought and would continue to fight for equality. Despite the masculine rule, women have continued to show their worth and capabilities. At a time in the past, the conditions of women were so appalling that some women convened a two day program to discuss the rights of a woman and their role in society. This convention gradually brought birth to the Equal Rights Amendment. This was the light at the end of the tunnel. Our convention show cased elements of the Woman’s Rights convention that took place in Seneca Falls and discussed some characters that symbolize the freedom of women.

The events leading up to the convention were impressive. There were posters around the school showing information on certain key characters that are associated with freedom and the equality of women. During the course of two weeks, selected female students were given the opportunity to give a brief background on important characters like Augusta Savage and Madonna. This was helpful to those who had no idea about the character. This did not only reeducate the senior class but also educated the entire school. The discussions shared in class about the achievements of these characters were exciting.

It was very lovely to see some of the junior students participating in the background reading of some important female characters during homeroom. Holding the convention after school so the junior students would be able to attend would have made the convention better. It would allow the students learn more about the women they read about and the topics associated with women’s rights. Inviting some teachers to grace the occasion would have been encouraging so the students would know the teachers acknowledge them. If the television in the hall way were to be working; information would be put on it talking about the senior’s Women’s Rights convention. This could have made the convention better in terms of awareness....
