The Bible is a teaching of ethical value. The role of the bible is to give moral value to its listeners so that they can apply those concepts to everyday life. Homosexuality is a moral breach specifically stated in the bible. With this being said, in today's society we continually try to justify an immoral action by ignoring the teachings of the bible, and allowing our imperfect social values to rule over the word of God. We continue to take God out of our schools and out of our teachings, and wonder why our social values shift towards immorral actions. The word of the Lord should be used as a guide to teach us right and wrong, and because our society has shifted away from the values taught in the bible, we justify our immoral actions by arguing that the bible is “out of date”. For a man of faith, and a church of faith, one must understand and believe that the teachings in the bible are right, and actions against those teachings are wrong. When we try and argue against those teachings in the hope to justify our actions, we are acting in a disrespectful way towards the lord and his word.

The Bible tells a story that teaches the reader moral principles to live by. It is the gospel of the Lord sent down through his people so that we as christians can learn his teachings, and identify why we are here on Earth. The bible plays a crucial role in framing what is right and wrong, and gives us a set of rules to live by. These 10 rules, also known as “God's laws” are well known as the ten commandments. These ten commandments are acknowledged by most christian denominations and accepted by all christian followers. Not only do we have the ten commandments to help guide our lives, but we also have specific chapters, stories, and parables that teach us to decipher between what is bad in this world, and what is good.
