1. Problems

Robin Hood’s primary problem was the continually increasing number of his band. When first founded his band was small and had been quite successful in providing for itself and the neighboring poor. However in recent times the band had grown greatly and the growth of members increased the funds that were spent on food and supplies. The game of the forest was becoming scarce leaving no option but to purchase food from the local farmers.

The major issue that came with the increasing numbers was the growth into a corporation like band. The structure that had once been suffice to keep order in the camp was no longer working. Robin knew fewer and fewer members of the band each time he came back into camp, and this made the face-to-face interaction almost impossible. Of course the structure that had been set up in the beginning was still in place, but it was becoming evident that to have only four people running the entire organization was impossible.

Originally the mission that was to be accomplished was “Rob the rich and give to the poor”. This mission simply put was becoming obsolete as the funds that were being confiscated were being used to support the large band and not being handed over to the poor. In order to continue in the mission of vigilance Robin would need to put into place a few revisions.

2. Strategic Case Analysis (Whys and Wherefores)

In analyzing this case through SWOT we are able to categorize appropriately the internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as the external opportunities and threats. Robin Hood and his men have strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats that all are very closely related and due to those relations some of them may only be used in one area.
