Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada are the owners of Club IT. The club is a music and social venue geared toward net generation customers as a place to meet, relax, and enjoy music and friends. Ruben and Lisa want their business to be successful. They want to establish a business process to run their club effectively.
Club IT resources consists of data collected from their customers, the software used to keep track of day-to-day business, and their website. Their customers are mainly net generation. They are very adept at using electronic devices such as i-phones, Blackberrys, and other mobile devices. Conducting business electronically, whether it is professional or personal, is a part of the Club IT customers daily routine. The Club IT supply chain are their suppliers who deliver the food and drink products, their live bands and DJ, who supply the music and entertainment, their staff who serve and manage the club, and their customers, who are the end client.
Club IT wants a computer system that will keep those in their supply chain as up-to-date as possible. The suppliers of food and drink products need to keep pace with inventory. They need to deliver products in a timely manner and in the proper quantity. Their DJ and live bands need to know the schedule so the entertainment for each specific evening is in place. Servers and cooks need to know what the orders are and which customers receive them. The manager needs to be aware of all areas. This is the key person making sure all other areas are running smoothly.
Club IT would benefit by combining all functions of the operation through one system. It is essential that all functional can communicate with each other in a timely and effective manner. The human resources, financial, marketing, and operations departments within Club IT can connect through an Enterprise Resource Planning, or ERP, system.
