Braving a Life without Television

Part 1

Summary

Brave a life without television is an endeavor that is set on revealing how effective and fluent our lives would be without television. The initiative is headed by a nonprofit group called the TV turn off network. The group has been gearing up to switching off the television for eight years now; a move that has led to this sample test of the process before the actual process on April 22nd.

In understanding the process clearly and the details required, the network spokes person, Frank Vespe, has outlined the regulations necessary. The whole process itself was inflicting due to the fact that that it was not clear what it was set on accomplishing or their expected results. [“It would have been said that the process would ensure that the process would be to understand how one would cope in light on the process or the actually presiding although the week as one tried to cope”] (Stein, 84).

The process would also be trying to outline the activities that were and are still free and common trait but often ignored due to the TV time. The week long process would be interesting according to the spokes person as one would be able to discover other activities like hobbies and book reading and other pleasures of life that people have often ignored. Little did I know by this he meant sexual activities that couples often suppress for that extra time to see the television.

Part 2: Opinion

Joel stein through his article has been able to demonstrate the power of television when he gave it up for an entire week. Stein explains the difficulty that he experienced from doing this, the jealousy that he felt when his wife was watching the television to the staring of a blank screen.
