The Impact of working environment on motivation level of employees: A study of high schools in Vehari, Punjab, PKISTAN

Abstract:

Purpose- The purpose of this paper is to study the motivation factors and the impact of working environment on motivational level of the employees and to recognize that which factor effects most motivation.

Design/Methodology/Approach- A questionnaire approach is used to collect data from the teachers of high schools in Vehari, Punjab, Pakistan against the impact of working environment on motivation level of employees. Data is being gathered through non probability sampling; based on convenience.

Findings- The study shows that motivation is also a process and its effects on working capacity of the employees. The findings show that the promotional factor affects the most to employees while the organizational policies and good relations with other members in the organization have least impact on motivation of the employees. The stressful working conditions also affects regarding motivation. Security in such an environment also matters. If the employees are provided with the good relaxation hours during work they will be more motivated. The findings also show that the financial incentives affects more than non financial incentives. The organization should must focus on these factors to motivate their employees and to get better results.

Research limitations/implications- The questionnaire is being filled on convenience because of the time limit. There are more chances of biasness. But this paper provides an insight to the high schools in vehari, Punjab, Pakistan to focus on the motivational factors more to make the performance better of their employees.

Originality/value-The paper offers an insight to the high schools’ head to focus on the motivational factors which affects their employees’ level of motivation.
