1. Yes I think launching DOEL was a political agenda of government of Bangladesh. They just wanted people to that they are keeping their promises what they gave before election. It is clearly seem that if they really want to establish a brand like DOEL they would put some effort but they didn’t show any. They just told and made some factory in Tongi nut in real life this is nothing. We can understand by seeing their customer service facilities, product quality, marketing strategy. But there is nothing basically. DOEL just started but it never fly that much to make mark in the laptop market.

3. As a laptop brand DOEL didn’t do any kind of promotional activity. Government just declared the brand and just launched some product. They should have made some TV commercials to let target audience know about the brand DOEL. In these days of heavy marketing without TV commercial it is kind of possible to reach target customers. If they did it they could have made awareness to the audience about this brand. They could have also sponsoring some programs or social activates around the country to make a brand image on consumers’ mind. They should have maintained regular newspaper advertisement. That could have helped them to reach their target customers.

5. I don’t think Rakib was a rational buyer. He just bought it for emotional reason. He had so many choices of international and reputed brands in his budget range. He bought DOEL without getting good information about it. He did know that their service is not up to that. He needs to go Tongi to get his laptop serviced. He didn’t get reliable information about this brand. After that much of incompetence of this brand he bought it. So we can’t say he was not a rational buyer.
