Research Objectives
The first and most important reason for discovering the statistics of gender, who visits Massage Envy, or purchase the membership, is the marketing aspect. If there were a large portion of men, who come in to the clinic, the way Massage Envy market and advertise would differ significantly if women were the majority.
Purpose of Study
To study how the woman’s “role” have drastically change over time. Women’s responsibilities have taken a toll on them. Women are chief executive officers, homeowners, business owners, political leaders, moms, wives, and girlfriends. Women are looking for ways to escape and find therapeutic relief, because women have an intrinsic need to feel good. Unlike men, when women feel good, they work better, there better to be around, there more attentive, and responsive.
Hypothesis Testing
Massage Envy’s general manager in her efforts wants to market the new Oasis Line in the Raleigh- Durham area. Because this Line is only for women she wants to determine whether it is necessary to separate the Raleigh and Durham regions or to market them together as one region. To make this decision, a report of the percentage of women at the Brier Creek location from both Raleigh and Durham will be explored.
Sampling Method
Team A’s choice is the cluster method of collecting data. Lind defines cluster sampling as “a population divided into clusters using naturally occurring geographic or other boundaries” (Lind, p. 266, 2008). Then clusters are randomly selected and a sample is collected by randomly selecting from each cluster” (Lind, p. Team A used cluster samples from the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill markets.
