I consider my community, the south end of Reno, Nevada. In my community there are people of all sorts of different races and ethnicities. Can I tell which race or ethnicity they specifically are? No. Does it matter what race or ethnicity they are? No. Why? Because they are all just people trying to make it in this world, just as I am. In my community the influence of race and ethnicity has very minimal affect on human interactions. The main thing that affects out human interactions is appearance and status, which is not only dependant on race or ethnicity.

There are members of my community that look similar to me. But not in a sense of race or ethnicity. I am a young woman. I dress professionally for work, cool for a warm day or comfortable when I do not feel so well. I feel that these different appearances I take on in certain situations or moods receive different approaches and treatment of other people. These days people are so judgemental that I do not feel that is has anything to do with the color of your skin but overall appearance. If I were to see any color person in baggy jeans and bandana, I would think of them as a gang banger. No matter the color, I personally would look at them the same, with that appearance going on. There are quite a few Asian Americans where I live as well. I would treat the one I work with better than one that worked at walmart so to say. The different statuses of people also have a great deal on how they are treated. A person of more importance will definitlely get more respect than that of a low status.

People In my community overall treat me well.. I am Mexican-American but I also have fair skin. No one can usually tell that I am anythingother than American. There are people of my race and ethnicity that are of darker sking that may actually be categorized as being Mexican. I can honestly say the only way I feel that I am treated differently by others in my community is if my presentation is poor. Or if...
