Staying healthy has not always been easy for me but with a little effort, I can easily achieve success. Many aspects of my life have a direct effect on my health. In order for me to have a more active and healthier life style, I will change my ways in current every day nutrition and exercise routine. With positive changes to my exercise routine and diet, I can have plenty of positive outcomes, which will assist in my general well-being. I have plenty of room to change my exercise routines and eating habits.  Maintaining a healthy diet and active lifestyle is an important part of staying healthy. Limiting the consumption of certain foods while avoiding other foods all together will assist in a balanced diet (Spark People, Inc., 2009). Not only is maintaining a healthy diet essential for our bodies’ health, but exercise also plays a huge role on our bodies’ natural health (Agriculture, 2009).

One of my main health issues that I need to avoid is obesity. Obesity is the excess of fatty tissue in one's body.  "Obesity is a leading cause of United States morality, morbidity, disability, healthcare utilization, and healthcare costs (The Obesity Society, 2009)". Obesity is one of the biggest health issues that many countries face [ (Obesity Research, 2009) ]. According to obesity-facts.net, obesity or being overweight is one of the leading causes of potential preventable deaths in the United States [ (Obesity Research, 2009) ]. Obesity is a problem, not because of how much food a person eats, but how they prepare the food. Obesity is labeled as a chronic condition that is defined by excess amounts of fat in the body. An individual tends to gain weight whenever they take in more calories than they are burning off; this is why exercising is vital to any healthy lifestyle.
