Why People Stop Being Friends

Friendship can be a rewarding thing. After all, you have someone to celebrate the good times with and listen to you when things are not going as well. Friendship is one of the best things that can ever happen to a human being. Best Friends divide the sorrows and multiply the joys. But we must not forget that there is a very thin line between true friends and pretenders. people are not always who they seem to be, so you may feel the need to tell them that it's not working out and you don't want to be their friend anymore. There are three main causes why we don’t want to be friends anymore. That is jealousy, change of marital status, and different point of view.

The first and in my opinion the most common reason why people stop being friends is jealousy. Jealousy and rivalry ruin friendships and lead to personal mistakes. Life sometimes likes to be cruel for some people and generous for others and that can be devastating when it comes to friendship. When one for example becomes successful at work, or gets high grades at school without working hard and the other one feels like everything in against him even though he is trying to become successful very hard. He starts to feel jealous for the one that gets everything easily. When there is a jealousy between friends it can finish the friendship very quickly.

Friendship can also breakup when one of friends changes the marital status, starts a family, and the other one remains single. We can often hear an expression: “I have lost my best friend because she/he got married”. I have to agree with that in 100% because it is something that happened to me personally. Married person doesn’t have so much free time anymore, which leads to less time spend with a friend. They don’t expect same things and are not interested in the subjects in life anymore.
