To Drill of Not to Drill? That is the Question

When it comes to drilling there are all kinds of opinions some are for the drilling and some are not. Drilling is a dangerous occupation that some people will take the risk because of the pay and benefits. Since drilling was started many, many years ago some of the dangers that were then are not here now there are laws now that prohibit some of the dangers. I feel that when it comes to me that this is a double edge sword you will get cut one way or another. I feel like the dependency that we in the United States of America have on foreign oil is just too high when we have places to drill here on our soil. Then on the other hand do we risk the lives of wildlife and the livelihoods of the people who work in these areas for the oil.

If I had to take a stand on what side to choose when drilling or not drilling I would not be able to come to a definite decision because of all the pros and cons that lays within each side. I probably would lean more to the not drilling and just try to find other ways to compensate our huge dependency on fuel oil and other goods. We live in a country that is full of potential all we have to do is look into the other resources we have and can use such as solar energy and clean coal.

I not fully accepting using the solar power including cars because I travel a lot so that my hinder my thinking when buying a new car how long does the charge last. I am just use to how things are so I might just be afraid of change that will take time and an adjustment period. I do think that solar power is great in other ways because it has created jobs in some parts of the state such as in the Midwest and Michigan. The jobs are needed to boost the economy while helping the environment. (www.solarpower.org)
