Report: Issues faced by McDonald’s & various approaches to solve the problems.

Since the world is getting smaller, as the population growth increases on daily basis, we tend to have less time for ourselves in terms of leisure activities like keeping fit, cooking for ourselves healthy meals and for some it’s a mission to overcome such as spend fortune in terms of time and money in the grocery store, then take it all the way home and make a meal out of it for the whole family – some people are apparently enough very lazy in such aspects. And that is when the custom of Fast Food habit kicks in.

First problem faced by McDonalds was the Global Reaction to Obesity trends creeping up as more and more people find it easy to feed themselves in the Fast Food restaurant as well as Junk Food, rather than buying and cooking, this happens for two reasons; first is - its time consuming as modern families with both parents are tied up at work & have no or too little time to spare for themselves or their children in order to educate them on healthy living style or cook for them healthy meals & the second reason is that; it is evident that Food provided from such chains appears to be cheaper and less time consuming in respect to the previous argument, it also satisfies the end result after all.

As a result; McDonald’s has been criticized and pressurized by Governments around the world as it represents the largest proportion of Fast Food Market. The evaluation of McDonald’s approach to solve the problem from persisting it any further was to introduce campaign of ‘Changes’ which aimed to promote healthier food menu with smaller portions and active lifestyle. The idea was to remove perceived view in consumers about McDonald’s as one to be blamed for and bad publicity emerged from the release of the movie ‘Super Size Me’, but to create ‘All New Healthy Eating McDonald’s Food’.
