Pakistan is a developing county and consequently faces a wide array of social problems: educational, economical, political, religious and a number of internal ethnic issues. However I believe it is more important to address small issues first and then work towards the annihilation of larger ones. After all small steps lead to big changes & transformation. “Vani” is a social issue within Pakistan and is considered a violation of human rights. Man is conquering the world. He is near to erect his flag on the peak of discoveries pillar but ironically he had lost his conscious in the dark dirty caves. In this modern and civilized world some incidents proves that we are still living in the cave age or before. The most ferrous thing is this many & more NGO’s with the name of human right have their vast networking throughout the world but what is happening? Problems are getting stronger than ever. No relief neither healing nor any satisfaction for the victims. NGO’s just pinpointed the problems, raise the funds and left the wounds without healing.

Concept of “Vani” nowadays criticized by the human rights activists, calling it a brutal practice targeted against the woman of “Pushtoon” society. “Vani” is an inhuman custom that violates the fundamental human rights of women defended on the premise that it is a way of resolving disputes, “Vani” means giving a woman to an enemy’s family as part of settlement of a feud. It often involves extreme cruelty towards women, treating them as a property that is used to settle disputes.

Such a horrible and terrible incident flashed on national & international media and fists the hearts. Eight innocent girls have been marries as “Vani” in Mianwali, one of them is just one and half year old. Women are being molested in Pakistan with the name of cultural devices. Befor Dec2002 “Karokari” or “Kala Kali”, “Honour killing”, “Nikah with Quran”, “Watasata” were the critical issues.
