Ethics

From the time when USAA began in 1922, the company has stuck to its core values of Service, Loyalty, Honesty and Integrity. USAA is committed to the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct in day-to-day business operations ranging from interaction with members, communities, to their business affiliations. USAA stands firm to the company’s core values that for the fourth year in a row Bloomberg Businessweek magazine named USAA among the top two on its list of "Customer Service Champs." USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group is the only property and casualty insurer with the highest ratings for financial strength from A.M. Best, Moody's and Standard & Poor's rating agencies (Robles Jr., 2010). USAA maintains a high level of ethical excellence through a Governance Committee, also known as (“the Committee”). The Governance Committee is responsible for overseeing the Board of Directors, and ensuring the Board is performing within the company’s ethic policies. The Committee also assess’ the performance of the CEO and Board Chairman; recommends compensation; develops and maintains a Chairman and CEO Succession/ Contingency Plan; and recommends a successor, as necessary (USAA, 2010)

USAA provides insurance services to an extensive range of military service members ranging from retired to active duty.
