Rhetorical Analysis of A Public Document

I believe The Center for Disease Control and Prevention websites purpose is to inform the United States about ADHD. Their main concern is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Attention Hyperactivity Disorder is mainly dealing with children and young adults. The CDC's websites main audiences are parents, caregivers, and also teachers. They tell their audience about the steps they need in order to deal with the illness. The CDC allows parents, caregivers, and teachers to know how doctors diagnose ADHD. They diagnose children by the American Psychiatric Associations Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel. If someone believes they have symptoms of ADHD the CDC website provides a check list. The CDC allows parents, and caregivers the knowledge to know about proper medications they will have to take and other possible treatments. The CDC gives examples of other individuals that have ADHD. The CDC also tells you the three types of ADHD which are predominantly hyperactive Impulsive Presentation, Predominantly Inattentive Presentation, and combined presentation. A child can have one type of ADHD but then change as they get older. The CDC also refers to “The American Psychiatric Association” for data and statistics. The “American Psychiatric Association” believes that three to seven percent of children in school have ADHD. They also give you other websites that give you information on ADHD. They allow readers to know about possible injuries that a person with ADHD can get. Due to the fact that they have ADHD they can get into car crashes from not paying attention. A person with ADHD can pay between thirty six and fifty two billion dollars. The CDC website also tells readers about the difference between girls and boys affected with ADHD.
