English 117 Formal Report Paper

▪ Assignment: Write a formal report about a chosen career and/or business plan.

▪ This paper will count as 25 percent of your grade. It is due Monday, December 9, no exceptions! In addition, please print two copies of this report.

▪ This paper must be typed and in the format of the formal report: See pages 305- 314 in the book for information about this format.

▪ The paper must have a title page, letter of transmittal, contents, executive summary, body, and works cited.

▪ The body of the paper must be single-spaced and three to five pages long.

▪ The paper must contain at least three secondary sources.

▪ The in-text citations and the works cited must be in MLA style: Use A Writer’s Reference, a similar text, or Purdue Owl, which you can find on the College’s library web site.

Consider incorporating these important options in your paper:

▪ Interviewing at least one person who is a professional in your intended career field. This information can be presented in the body of the report in a Q&A format.

▪ Including at least one graphic (chart or table).

▪ Using bullet points when you deem them appropriate.
