Abstract

In the pursuit of truth, the largest impact to the criminal justice system rests upon judicial

courts throughout our country. In any given day, justice is issued from numerous benches

by dedicated judges. The judgment placed upon individuals and corporations paves the way

for adjudication and possible rehabilitation to criminals far and wide. In order to ensure the

offender is held accountable, sentencing may contain minor citations to the death penalty.

While we debate on the validity of what is good and what is bad, we must not forget this

system placed upon long ago, continues to serve the American people collectively and as

individuals. The courts are indeed a fabric of our justice system that reaches beyond the borders

of our homes, and in our workplaces, but reaches with a righteous and just hand listening to the

cries of the people just as it was in 1776. In that, our voice is indeed heard, and the efforts of law

enforcement nationwide contribute to the security and well-being of all Americans.

What really is a Court?

To some, the inner workings of the court are known only to criminals, lawyers,

police, and what the media displays. Truth be told; it is an intricate, well-coordinated event that

is repeated in courtrooms nation-wide. Specific roles throughout court proceedings impact the

other with respect to the execution of justice that form a courtroom. This group together brings

forth judges, prosecutor’s, juries, bailiffs and others work together to address criminal cases and

dispose of them in accordance with the law. No easy task if you ask any defense attorney!

Courts have been often looked upon as the final disposition of judgment for the offender

and a path of justice for victims. While efforts are united in courtrooms all over the country in
