In 1984, the National Basketball Association’s Chicago Bulls and rookie Michael Jordan joined forces, embarking on a 15-year pursuit, including a retirement from the NBA in 1993. Jordan’s retirement from the NBA Chicago Bulls is short-lived lasting only one year; Michael Jordan returned to the NBA Chicago Bulls in 1994.

Currently, Kobe Bryant’s unceasing struggle to establish his own professional reverence in the NBA, to earn the fans loyalty and respect from the NBA, current NBA players, Hall-of- Famers, the Los Angeles Lakers team, and Laker organization. Kobe Bryant’s fervor to get from under the constant distressing comparison of himself to Michael “Air Jordan” Jordan and his extraordinary ability to play the game. Even though Kobe Bryant drafted straight out of high school to the NBA at age 17 in 1996 to the North Carolina Charlotte Hornets. Michael’s continuous contributions to the NBA on or off the court, the triumphs shared the tragedy of his father’s murder, and Jordan’s unusual willingness to fail in the game of life or basketball symbolizes him as one of the most dominant players in NBA history. Michael’s ability to transition from just a team player to team captain labels Jordan a better athlete than Kobe Bryant. Michael Jordan is a six-time NBA champion, and in 1996, Michael Jordan’s named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.

“The minute you get away from fundamentals- whether its proper technique, work ethic or mental preparation- the bottom can fall out of your game, your schoolwork, your job, whatever you’re doing” -Michael Jordan- (Good Reads, 2012). “ The whole Michael thing does drive me nuts sometimes because people won’t leave it alone.
