1. Introduction

Obesity is a condition which having excess body fat. The usual conditions for obesity can be genetic or environmental which are difficult to control while dieting. Generally, if a person has a body mass index of 30 or above that person is considered as obese. BMI (body mass index) is a tool for defining obesity and measuring the severity of obesity. Obesity increases risks for developing diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, heart conditions among others. Most of the people, which are suffering from obesity are not aware of its risks and that makes it one of the biggest threats and it will be discussed in detail in this paper.

Obesity Measurement

Obesity can be measured by various methods most common are BMI and waist circumference. These two are most commonly used as a tool to measure weight. Condition of obesity also depends on the height of a person a taller person may weigh more than a person with a shorter height but might not me considered obese. (Obesity Action Coalition, 2015)
