Personal Worldview

The reading by Michael Houdmann describes the worldview from a Christian point of view. I believe we are in this world for a specific mission. The series of events in our lives are destined to happen by fate or by human will. All these events are opportunities for us to create an impact, but this only happens depending on our choices, attitude, and mindset. Life gives us a choice to choose our own paths in most things, and somehow along the way circumstances enable us to learn the things that we can change and make the world a better place. The world is full of imperfections, disparities, and imbalances. Therefore, the question of what is wrong with the world depends on the geographical location, age, economic status, level of education and level of exposure among others. Everyone has some sort of a problem, but they revolve around the same issue; a need for comfort, power, security, love, and the basic needs. The way we handle the problems is greatly dependent on our cultural environment. Most of the problems in the world are a consequence of the various means that human beings use to satisfy their needs. Some of these means are harmful and inconsiderate which end up hurting others emotionally, physically or financially. Most of these problems can be fixed if everyone decided to love and accommodate each others, which means being understanding, considerate, embracing diversity, and striving to make others live a better life.

From the implicit preference test, I learned that I tend to associate the things and events around me with those that I have seen in the past unconsciously. Just like the blind men who touched an elephant, each of them associated a particular feature of the elephant with something they had touched in their lives.
