Thesis statement: Education is a fundamental tool in everyone’s life because it has helped so many people evolve America into what it has become today.

A. Having an education means a higher paying job.

1) People could become doctors and lawyers.

2) People could become CEOs of top companies.

B. Having an education means you can provide for your family.

1) Individuals can buy the house and car of their dreams.

2) Individuals can provide clothing, food, and shelter for their love ones.

III. Pros of having an education.

A. People respect individuals who are educated.

1) People are treated and talked to differently than uneducated people.

2) People will lend a helping hand to educated people quicker than they will for uneducated people.

B. Having an education allows people to work in areas they love.

1) An educated person gets to enjoy their job and goes to work every day.

2) An educated person has to work a 9-to-5 on a job they hate therefore there performance is bad.

IV. Different types of how to get an education

A. Formal education is a classroom-based setting.

1) In formal education, classes have the same teachers and students every day.

2) Students get more face-to-face interaction with their classmates and instructors.

B. Another type of education is called informal education.

1) Online classes and after-school programs are example of an informal education.

2) With an informal education, individuals are learning at their own pace and have more time to complete assignments.

V. Education and technology impact America.

A. Without having an education and the many advances of technology, many diseases would not have a cure.
