Managing in the Global Environment

As the senior manager of this company. I’ve been doing some heavy research into a specific company and it’s been on Apple Inc. They’ve been the global supply chain leaders for a while now. They are becoming more aware of their global demands as time moves on; meaning, they’ve been developing efficient new products while creating new global markets. As long as they are obtaining more resources and capital which they have been. Then they will be the sole power houses in this industry for a long time. So for a young company as we are, we could use some ideas from their supply chain processes. I mainly looked into three key components in which Apple is strong in, and that’s the global environment, task environment, and the general environment. Apple has had a strong reputation in all three of these categories and I will show you why and hopefully we as a company can progress from this knowledge. If we want to be the best in the industry, sometimes we need to learn from the best.

Global Environment

Global environment is essentially the world outside the organizations boarders that can truly affect how it operates and shapes its behaviors. This happens when new production technology is open to the market. It can bring efficiency to a new development, so some companies might want to change on how they are producing their products, which changes how things may be done for the company in regards to a new production line. As for Apple. They had a problem with a production line in Shenzhen, China when they announced the Apple watch. I found an article in which states what happened to the production line and how Apple’s supplier has been able to bounce back from their struggles.
