Cristo and Jeanne-Claude the couple from Europe who are dedicated their life for creating the masterpieces of art. Cristo was originally from Bulgaria and Jeanne was born in Morocco. Their most famous works are the Running fence, The Gates and Wrapped Reichstag.

The running fence is basically the fence made from the white fabric nylon which 24 miles long and 18 foot high supported by steel cables. The route of the fence went through the four main roads (14 roads to be precise) and 59 ranches and end at the Pacific Ocean bay. Cristo, during the Fence installation hearing, said that his work is not just a fabric and steel fence, it’s also a people who supported and participated at this project. He believed that art of 20th century was not just a single individual experience, it was deep political, social, economic experience involving all people that happened during their time. , Cristo and Jeanne strongly believed that his project is beautiful because the fabric were moving and with the sunset it has an incredible ribbon of light. The project was presented only for 2 weeks.

The locals was skeptically treated the strangers from different cities and countries. That’s why when Cristo and Jeanne-Claude first came to their land they were against the idea of allowing them to build the fence. According to the movie their first application of building the running fence was denied because locals didn’t have enough provision to build the running fence. Some of the locals said that the running fence is not an art, it’s just a fence which going to make difficulties for ranchers to work on their farms. Also their said that the Cristo’s statement of heavily over graced area where fence located, it’s an excuse to abuse the rancher’s land. However, with the help of some locals who were supported this project, finally they succeeded and got a permission for building the running fence.
