  The French Revolution that was filmed by History Channel was a documentary about bloody revolution. It was directed by Doug Shultz in 2005. It was intended for the students and other history enthusiasts. The purpose of this documentary is to open the eyes of the people on what really happened during the French Revolution, how did it started, or who started it and what is the reason for this revolution.

  I have no idea about the French revolution, in fact this is the first time that I have heard of it, but knowing the word revolution means that there will be lots of blood and an angry people who wants a democracy.

  This is the first time that I watched a documentary about a revolution particularly the French revolution. It has perhaps the best cinematography so far for a documentary. The movie was well-narrated and the scenes were portrayed well by the actors and actresses. However, it would be better if the people who played as Louis XVI and Mary Antoinette are teenagers in real life so that I can clearly imagine how they look like back then.

  This documentary about one of the world’s most complex and important revolutions in the history began at the wedding of a fifteen-year old Louis XVI and a fourteen-year old Mary Antoinette from Austria. Their wedding served as the alliance between the two countries.

  Seven years ago, King Louis XV lost to the battle, nearly making the country bankrupt. It left the people hungry because of the shortage in bread. Even though there was a shortage, the Queen still indulge in a lavish life, not thinking about the financial crisis. When King Louis XV died, Louis XVI became the new king, but he was not ready for it. Equality began to threaten the aristocratic way of life and French monarchy cannot pay the debt so the money raised from borrowing the peasants.

  The King was executed, lost his head to the guillotine. Same destiny for his wife. I thought that the death of the Queen was the end of the war. The revolution grew...
