Executive Summary

The purpose of the study is to develop an automated payroll system that will give solutions to the issues on managing the payroll of the company. Payroll software can be used to speed up the process of calculating pay, ensuring that payments are both accurate and on time. The proponents conduct an interview and surveys to find out the issues encountering by the company on using manual payroll system. The proponents found out that the company has issues dealing with slow process of salary computation. The proponents used Agile Unified Process (AUP) in developing the system for flexibility and for the higher quality of the system.

CHAPTER I

PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Payroll consists of the process by which a business pays its employees for work performed during a specific period. A payroll system allows businesses to follow a set series of processes in order to make timely, correct payments in compliance with government regulations. A payroll system may be manual or computerized and handled in-house or outsourced to another provider.

The payroll process typically includes calculating employee pay, recording payroll transactions and determining and paying payroll taxes. A company must have in place a timekeeping system that accurately...
