ALL ABOUT CYST

There are many diseases that are termed to be dangerous when they affect someone. One of them is cyst.

Cyst is a close sea like structure that is not a normal part of the tissue where it is located.

Cysts are common and can occur anywhere in the body in people of any age. Although cysts can appear anywhere in the body, most frequently they live in the skin, ovaries, breasts or kidneys and most of them are not cancerous.

Cysts are often caused by infection, clogging of sebaceous glands or around earning. It is unusual for cysts to cause pain unless they rapture, become infected or inflamed and during their early stages some of the causes of cysts are tumors. Tumors are swellings that grow in the body which has effects on the area. It grow on another causes of cyst is genetic conditions. Infection from other diseases may also cause cysts. There are other parasites that cause cysts and the last one is impact injury that breaks a vessel.

There are various symptoms of cyst and the symptoms depends on the type of cyst and where it is located. There are some common symptoms grouped by location.

Symptoms of skin cyst are typical slow growing and painless, skin cysts are usually small, although same can grow to the size of a golf ball. They do not cause pain unless they rupture or become inflamed. In these sacs, there will be redness, swelling and tenderness.

At the wrists, Ganglian, cysts can appear suddenly and grow quickly. They are usually tender to touch. When Ganglian cyst is not detected earlier, it may weaken a person’s grip or make it painful.

At the knees, Bakers’ cyst may feel hard when the patient bends the knee. The knee joint may feel swollen and tight. If the cyst breaks open, it can cause pain in the back of the knee or down the leg. If the cyst grow big it leads to swelling in the leg and foot.
