AFRICAN WOMEN’S STUDIES CENTRE

African Women's Studies Centre (AWSC) will be offering 5 day Short Certificate Courses in August, September and October, 2015 at a reasonable students’ rate of Ksh 16,500 per course. After successful completion of the Short Course, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation from the University of Nairobi.

The courses include:

1. Women, Power and Decision making ( August, 30- Sept4 2015)

2. Writing stories based on personal life experiences( August 17- 21, 2015)

3. African Women, Economic Policies ( Sept, 14-18,2015)

4. Gender Aware Budgeting ( Sept,28- Oct 2,2015)

5. Leadership and Governance in Africa( October, 26-30th, 2015)

1. Where to pay –

a. Bank name: Barclays Bank of Kenya

b. Bank branch: Westlands

2. How to pay:

a) Pay at any Barclays bank branch. Tell the cashier that you are paying for a short course and request him/her to write your name on the receipt.

b) The payment is Ksh 16,000.00 for the course and Ksh. 500.00 registration fee.

c) Please keep the bank slip and present it at the beginning of class as proof of payment.

3. Only those participants who have paid both the registration and course fees will be allowed to join the course.

4. Venue: Courses will be conducted at the University of Nairobi, Main Campus Education Building ED 213

5. Time : The program starts at 9:00am and end at 4:00pm

6. AWSC will offer two teas and snacks per day.

7. Materials: training materials will be provided.

8. Certificate: Certificate of participation will be awarded on Friday afternoon after successful completion of the course.
